Alte Schule

The Alte Schule is the cultural center of the municipality of Horgen and is located in a 140-year-old schoolhouse, just a minute's walk from the train station and boat pier. It offers a one-of-a-kind atmosphere for lingering and enjoyment. The Alte Schule houses a bar, a forecourt, a hall, and a club in the basement, which cater to both the needs of the public and private occasions.

For public events, the Alte Schule regularly hosts concerts, comedy nights, art exhibitions, poetry slam evenings, and theater performances. The premises can also be rented for private celebrations, which makes it a popular venue for a variety of events. The bar and the garden are leased by Patric Weingarten and Nicolas Dietrich, while the use of the auditorium and club is coordinated by Tenzin Bhusetshang on behalf of the municipality of Horgen.
