    Ask like you would ask a friend

    “Find me an Italian restaurant in Zurich with a terrace for Saturday.” CityHero returns results ranked by Hero Score — with Google rating, open status and profile.

    Pick and clarify details

    The assistant only asks what the business really needs: date, time and guests for restaurants, service and preferred slot for hairdressers, scope and date for craftsmen.

    Confirm and send

    You see a summary and confirm explicitly. CityHero forwards the request, you get a confirmation email and the business replies to you directly.

Connect in ChatGPT

  1. Once the CityHero app is live in the ChatGPT app directory: search “CityHero” and connect — done.
  2. Until then via developer mode: Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced → enable developer mode.
  3. Choose “Create”, enter “CityHero” as name and the server address above as URL, authentication “None”.
  4. In a chat pick CityHero via “+” → “More”. Results appear as cards, the request as a form with a calendar.

Connect in Claude

  1. Settings → Connectors → “Add custom connector”.
  2. Name “CityHero”, URL = server address above. No sign-in required.
  3. Enable the connector in a chat and simply ask for businesses. Claude shows results as text or interactively, depending on the app version.

Other AI assistants and developers

CityHero speaks the open Model Context Protocol (MCP, Streamable HTTP, no sign-in). Any MCP client can use the tools: search_businesses, get_business, start_inquiry, request_inquiry, list_categories, list_cities, get_price_stats, compare_dish_prices.

Privacy and fairness

  • ✓ A request is only sent after you explicitly confirm the summary.
  • ✓ Your details only go to the businesses you contact — never to third parties, never for advertising.
  • ✓ At most two businesses per request: businesses get real requests, not mass mailings.
  • ✓ Ranking is the open Hero Score — no paid placements in the chat.

FAQ

Does the CityHero app in ChatGPT cost anything?

No. Search and requests are free and non-binding for you. You only need a ChatGPT or Claude account with apps or connectors available.

Is a reservation via ChatGPT binding?

It is a request, not a booking. The business confirms, suggests an alternative or declines — the answer goes straight to your email address or phone.

Which businesses can I contact via chat?

All businesses with the request feature on CityHero: restaurants, bars, hairdressers, beauty, doctors and dentists, craftsmen, movers, fiduciaries, agencies and many more. Cafés, shops and businesses with their own online booking are excluded; for the latter CityHero shows the direct booking link.

How does the assistant know what a business needs?

Every category on CityHero has its own request form. The assistant gets exactly these fields, only asks for what is missing — and checks date and time against the opening hours.

Can the app compare prices?

Yes. For 42 services of hairdressers, massage and beauty studios and driving schools, and for 131 dishes and drinks, it gives the median, the range and the cheapest businesses of a town or all of Switzerland — from the same data as the price pages on cityhero.ch, with data date and source.

Does the app also search nearby or in a whole canton?

Yes. Ask for “near Winterthur” or “in the canton of St. Gallen” and CityHero searches all towns in the radius or the canton and shows the town and distance for every result.
