Swiss Medi Kids AG / Kinder Permanence

Swiss Medi Kids is the largest pediatric walk-in facility (Kinder Permanence) in Switzerland, with locations in Zurich, Winterthur, and Lucerne. The facility provides comprehensive care for children and adolescents up to the age of 16. It is open daily until 8:00 p.m., which allows families with urgent medical concerns to get help even outside regular consultation hours. Swiss Medi Kids ensures that all children can be treated as walk-in patients, regardless of any prior relationship with a pediatrician. After the visit, the child's own pediatrician is informed about the visit in order to ensure a complete medical history.

The services are wide-ranging and include, among other things, primary care, special consultations for child psychology, as well as pediatric and adolescent surgery. In addition, video and telephone consultations are offered, which allow parents to get in touch with the pediatricians without having to physically visit the facility. This is especially advantageous during times of high patient volume or for families who do not live nearby.

Despite the high demand, it is ensured that during periods of extremely high patient volume only the most urgent cases are treated and non-urgent cases are referred accordingly. There are also special offerings, such as pediatric first-aid courses designed for both parents and daycare centers (Kitas), to spread knowledge about first aid for children.
