Stadt St.Gallen, Stadtgrün

Stadtgrün is the City of St. Gallen's municipal unit for public green spaces and communal horticulture. It is based at Neugasse 1 in 9000 St. Gallen and forms part of the city administration.

As a public gardening operation, Stadtgrün maintains and shapes publicly owned green areas – from parks and verges to urban trees and plantings, right through to seasonal displays across the townscape. Units of this kind combine hands-on horticultural work with a mandate to support local recreation, urban climate and biodiversity in the built environment.

Stadtgrün is above all relevant to residents and to matters concerning public greenery in St. Gallen – such as questions about parks, city trees or the upkeep of municipal grounds. As a public body, it is the responsible point of contact for the city's horticultural affairs.
