Amt für Jugend und Berufsberatung

The Amt für Jugend und Berufsberatung (AJB – Office for Youth and Career Counseling) of the Canton of Zürich is dedicated to supporting families, adolescents, and adults. An important task of the AJB is to strengthen families in their everyday lives and to offer individual counseling on questions of career paths. For this, the AJB is not only set up regionally but also works closely with the various children's and youth welfare centers (kjz) as well as career information centers (biz). This regional presence ensures that the services are easily accessible to the population of Zürich and meet the needs of clients on the ground.

The AJB's areas of focus range from services for families and parenting advice to education and career counseling, as well as special topics such as child and adult protection. In particular, the career and career-path counseling is carried out in seven professionally run career information centers. Here, both adolescents and adults receive well-founded information and support in choosing their professional future. In addition, valuable resources are provided at the children's and youth welfare centers to help families in difficult life situations.

The AJB is not only a specialist agency for the families concerned but also functions as a service center for institutions and professionals. With more than 1,000 employees at numerous locations in the Canton of Zürich, the AJB offers a broad range of services in order to meet the diverse needs of the population.
