Dr. Stephan à Porta-Stiftung

The Dr. Stephan à Porta Foundation is a charitable institution that has been active in Zurich since its founding in 1946. As an operating foundation, it owns 140 properties in the city of Zurich and rents them out on favorable terms. In recent years, numerous institutions have benefited from this support, including the Arbeitskette Foundation, which was able to save jobs and training positions thanks to the à Porta Foundation. The foundation is the result of a long-standing commitment to the community and has earned a firm place in Zurich's social fabric over the decades. In addition to renting out apartments, the foundation also actively participates in various socio-political programs to improve the quality of life of disadvantaged people. It also appears as a patron foundation and helps numerous institutions realize their projects through financial support. The current waiting list for apartment applications is already full, which shows that demand for affordable housing remains high. The foundation plans to continue investing in social projects in the future and is always looking for new ways to achieve its charitable goals. In 2021, the foundation celebrated its 75th anniversary, looking back on a long history of commitment and support work.
