Gustav-Ammann-Park

Gustav-Ammann-Park is a unique park in Oerlikon that was designed in 1942 by the renowned landscape architect Gustav Ammann. Originally conceived as a “welfare garden” for the workforce of the then machine tool factory Bührle & Co., the park today presents itself as an oasis of calm and a historic gem within the urban environment. Special features of this park are the gentle slopes, winding paths, and small seating options that provide relaxation and recreation. A central element is the rustic Ticino pergola, which blends harmoniously into the surrounding nature.

The garden landscape is distinguished by particularly diverse planting. Among the many trees are some rarities, such as the tulip tree and the paperbark maple, which lend the park remarkable botanical diversity. The careful restoration work under garden heritage conservation aspects ensures that both the design and the planting of the park are preserved in their historical context.
