Steiner AG

Steiner AG, founded in 1915 in Zürich, is a company with a long tradition that once started as the Carl Steiner Schuhmacher joinery and developed over the years into a significant player in the construction industry. In 1980 the company was converted into a stock corporation. After almost 40 years as part of Hindustan Construction Company Ltd. (HCC), which had led the Steiner Group since 2010, Steiner AG has since 2023 no longer overseen any new projects in German-speaking Switzerland as a total or general contractor. The focus is now on the winding-up process, as the company has been in a definitive composition moratorium since February 2025. Wicki Partners AG has been appointed by the Zürich District Court as the definitive administrator to ensure the management of the composition proceedings. The Steiner AG website serves as transparent communication about the ongoing process and does not replace the formally served announcements to creditors. In view of the large number of successfully completed projects, including more than 1,500 residential construction projects, 540 commercial properties, and several prestigious buildings such as Sihlcity and the Prime Tower, the composition moratorium represents a turning point in the now 111-year history of the company. The creditors' meetings and regular information on the website are crucial for giving creditors insight into the progress of the proceedings. Particular attention was paid to the creditors' meeting on July 1, 2026, at which a vote was held on the composition bodies. The original tradition of Steiner AG lives on in the jurisprudence relating to the financial processes and the corresponding legal proceedings.
