Alte Chäsi

The Alte Chäsi is a unique restaurant and Fiirabigbeiz (after-work tavern) located in a listed building over 300 years old in Zurich-Seebach. The house once served as an inn for travelers and was formerly also the milk collection point for local farmers before the milk was processed into cheese. This tradition is reflected in the menu, which includes numerous cheese specialties, among them the famous fondue and the delicious Käseschnitten (cheese toasts). In a recently renovated venue, we welcome our guests in a cozy and modern atmosphere that preserves the historic substance and feels inviting with warm oak beams.

Our offering includes fine grilled dishes as well as a selection of drinks and beers served at our bar. The restaurant is ideal for sociable evenings, with the 'Fiirabig', our after-work concept, being especially popular. Due to the popularity of the raclette dishes, we ask for advance notice. In addition, the dining room is available for small and larger occasions of up to 30 people, perfect for celebrations, birthday parties, or club events.

In the warm months, our idyllic garden invites you to linger, where guests can relax and enjoy a cool drink, ideal for a game of Jass or a round of backgammon. The Alte Chäsi offers a unique combination of historic atmosphere and contemporary cuisine that captivates both locals and tourists. Monday to Friday we are open between 16:00 and 23:00, and Saturday from 17:00 to 23:00; the hot kitchen is available until 21:30.
