The name BaoBae means "treasure" or "darling" in Chinese and reflects Dan and May's love of food and hospitality. Dan brings decades of restaurant experience, while May has a keen eye for business and the guest experience. Together they offer bold, modern Chinese cuisine inspired by regional flavors. Under the direction of chef Dan Shu, who gained experience at renowned restaurants such as Gaijin Izakaya and Chifa Izakaya, our menu celebrates the diversity of China, and every dish is a tribute to Dan's roots and his culinary drive to create.

Our restaurant is known not only for its outstanding food, but also for its creative drink selection. Our cocktail menu is curated by the renowned bartenders Marco Colelli and John Oquendo, while the wine is put together by Paul Waldschuetz and Stefano Petta, a Gault Millau Sommelier of the Year 2024.
